"One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do"... remember that first line from the song "One" by Three Dog Night? Not today it isn't.
Today everywhere, around the world, each person who celebrates Christmas is one, one with each other and all are one for the One who came for all. It's a time to put aside our differences and recognize that we are not the center of everything. Christmas is a time for restoring hope, showing love, and remembering the reason for the season.
In a large way it's a sentiment that applies to those who cherish vintage Hamilton watches. Although we are each one as individuals, we are not alone and we all benefit from the generosity, goodwill and kindness of others.
So Merry Christmas Bedford Falls.... and Santa Monica, Yardly, El Dorado, Yorba Linda, Spring, Oakland, Sacramento, Kane, Tempe, Greensboro, Old Saybrook, Corte Madera, Cortlandt Manor, Wilmington, Ashville, Waukesha, Chicago, Stuart, Philadelphia, Mechanicsburg, Atlanta, Wyomissing, Derby GB, Huntersville, Hyattsville, New Rochelle, Crown Point, Laurelton, Windsor, Stafford, Brooklyn, Mount Dora, Grosse Pointe, Salt Lake City, Puyallup, Raleigh, Wake Forrest, Old Lyme, Roseville, Baltimore, Eagan, Forrest Grove, Dallas, Tacoma, Ashburn, Snohomish, Mechanicsville, West Seneca, Durham, Emerald Hills, San Diego, Ann Arbor, De Pere, Perth, Houston and, of course, Lancaster!
Hamilton celebrated Christmas too and it's both fun and interesting to peruse the variety of advertisements over the decades. Christmas was the perfect occasion to provide a gift that would be cherished for a lifetime. In fact, some of my favorite watches are the ones with Christmas wishes inscribed on their back.
